Uncovering The Nonprofit Blogosphere

The Nonprofit Factor: Using Weblogs A Case Study and Guide provides a glimpse into the nonprofit blogosphere and shows how a nonprofit organization can effectively create a blog using a particular service. This site serves as a place for others to access the information from my Master’s project. The project culminates in a blog template for Junior Achievement of Akron Area, Inc. (JAA) At this time, JAA is in the planning phases on how they will use the blog. My wish is for this information to be useful to all of those who encounter it.

The first part of my completed project is a prospectus.  Following is the case study, which includes the below items:

  1. Listing of all nonprofit blogs.
  2. A review and commentary of 5 nonprofit blogs.
  3. Summary of nonprofit blog uses.
  4. List of best practices.

And the guide encompasses:

  1. Blog Tools.
  2. Organizational Blogging Dos and Don’ts.
  3. Defining an Audience.
  4. Setting a Blog Objective.
  5. Determining Authors.
  6. A simple way to set up a nonprofit blog using WordPress. Here I showed how I set up JAA’s blog.
  7. Blog Public Relations Plan Outline and Sample Survey.
  8. Additional Resources.
  9. Glossary of Terms.
